The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) provides evidence-based information on speech, language, feeding, swallowing, and hearing development across the lifespan. ASHA offers trusted guidance for families seeking to better understand communication milestones, therapy services, and when to seek support.
CDC Developmental Milestones provide age-based checklists to help families track a child’s development in communication, social, cognitive, and motor skills. These tools support early identification of potential concerns and encourage families to seek timely evaluation and intervention when needed.
Help Me Grow New York is a statewide program that connects families with developmental, health, and community-based services for children from birth to age five. Through free developmental screenings and care coordination, Help Me Grow NY helps families identify concerns early and access the supports their child may need for healthy development.
Early Intervention is a state-supported program that provides evaluation and services for infants and toddlers from birth to age three who have developmental delays or disabilities. EI focuses on supporting communication, feeding, motor, and social-emotional development through family-centered services delivered in natural environments, such as the home or daycare.
